During the ongoing Covid-19 situation we’re working hard to support and create positive moments (or action) in the music community
As a brand we believe in music’s ability to bring people together, and continually support this through our True Music platform. Right now, we know that artists and the music community, like many others, are facing tough times. Mass cancellation of events and social restrictions on gatherings are impacting their ability to do what they love, and to make a living. Over the next few months we will be working on initiatives to continue our support for music and the culture we all love.
Here’s an update on the immediate action we are taking:
- We have committed a six-figure £ sum that includes 20 x £5,000 grants which will be distributed to community-driven music collectives globally who will be taking part in Boiler Room’s recently announced ‘Streaming From Isolation’ series. These grants will be given to these creative collectives to distribute as they feel best within their immediate community to support those most in need over the coming months whilst COVID-19 restrictions are in place.
- Weekly takeover days on Boiler Room channels will feature performances and content from these collectives, broadcasted to the world from their homes and creative spaces, keeping music fans connected while they are socially isolating. During the broadcasts there will also be an option to donate to The Global FoodBanking Network, for those who are able to.
- Keep an eye on Ballantine’s and Boiler Room’s social channels and boilerroom.tv for further details.
This is just the start. More to come.
