For this edition, Noh Sangho has brought a new contemporary look and feel to Ballantine’s 17 Year Old and Ballantine’s 21 Year Old blends. The design is inspired by our ethos of “Time Well Spent”, a concept that highlights the importance of making time to create moments that truly matter.
When designing the labels, Sangho took inspiration from his own personal memories, as well as the people and beauty that he encounters every day. He was also inspired by the digital world – finding inspiration in the ordinary and transforming every day images into his bold style.
As part of this partnership, he has also create two bespoke paintings titled “The Great Chapbook – Time Well Spent”. The paintings portray colourful and dynamic scene of groups of people enjoying different activities outdoors throughout the day.
I painted people doing things that they love and expressed the deepening of time whilst enjoying each other’s company, using different colours and accents. This correlates with my creative process; drawing objects, moments and people that I have encountered everyday for the past 10 years.
Having only had five Master Blenders throughout our 195-year history, this Artist Edition is also key to Ballantine’s Master Blender Sandy Hyslop, as he reminisces on his own treasured memories.
