We did it again, Johannesburg! On May 11th, we brought together the best of our True Music talent: past, present and future. What can only be described as an exciting multi-stage event, iconic acts including Badsista, FS Green, Scorpion Kings, Wondagurl Toccororo and many more took to the stage! Broadcast of the the Allstars stage was a vibrant set of performances with back to back collab pairings of cutting-edge club sounds from Coco Em & Kampire; the two global queens of Amapiano DBN Gogo & Tyler ICU and the reigning, chaotic queen of the Spanish club scene Toccororo, & Safety Trance. Followed by Scorpion Kings, Shimza and one of the most important electronic music acts of all time, Masters At Work.
Next up! We tapped all-new headliners and fresh talent from across the globe, like international hit-maker WondaGurl and Maglera Doe Boy, one of the most unique and impactful rappers in South Africa today. Back 2 back sets were delivered by Shannen SP b2b with Jay Music followed by one of Brazil’s most important exports of recent years, BADSISTA who went b2b with EVEHIVE.
From established, to newcomers in the game, we shone a light on all-South African talent who make the country’s music scene what it is today. Lineup included the multifaceted creative, Pona Colada, self proclaimed ‘rave princess’ River Moon, bright young hopes of gqom music, Omagoqa and last but surely not least, Dlala Thukzin – one of the pioneers of the ‘gqomtech’ sound.
