From the electrifying rhythms of pagodão to the bold and dynamic activism of the LGBTQIA+ collective Batekoo, we celebrated the diverse cultural innovation that defines Salvador.

As part of Boiler Room x Ballantine’s: Salvador, we’re celebrated the unique pulsating Pagodão scene in its entirety. From chart-topping pagode stars to underground trailblazers, we were down for the full spectrum of sound. With game-changers like Baiana System, Okanalha, and a lineup of artists who embodied the city’s unstoppable beat.

Batekoo presents Boiler Room x Ballantine’s: Salvador
The 2nd day in the Boiler Room x Ballantine’s: Salvador festivities. For decades, legendary carnival blocos like Ilê Ayiê have brought Afrocentric rhythms and pride to the forefront, cementing Salvador’s deep ties to the African continent. The lifeblood of its cultural identity.
Leading the charge that day? Batekoo: the fearless, unapologetic LGBTQIA+ collective redefining Salvador and Baiano culture with their cutting-edge vision. This was a celebration of community, innovation, and identity at its boldest – a real city-wide showcase that was vibrant, pioneering, and proudly Baiano.
