How to blend cocktails at home
There’s no wrong way to whizz up a blended cocktail. But if you want to make a drink that’s perfectly smooth and deliciously flavoured, here are some tips we’ve learnt along the way.
First up you’re going to want to add about twice as much ice as liquid, starting off with any softer ingredients like berries and fruits at the bottom. This will make sure you get that silky slushie texture.
You don’t want to get too heavy handed. Pulse for a few seconds at a time to crush up large ice cubes before going for a longer blend. Add a dash of juice or water if things get too solid or your blender sticks. And don’t forget to taste test until it’s to your liking.
Last thing – don’t add too much at once. Doing so will almost guarantee a cocktail explosion. So get in line and wait your turn (or get your mates to bring their blender).
