This autumn, we’re reuniting with Boiler Room to bring you ‘In The Round,’ a brand new True Music event series.
In The Round aims to recreate the intimate Boiler Room experience we all know and love for the COVID-era. Artists performing amid the iconic 360 degree layout, broadcasting their music to the world via screens at home and socially distanced intimate gigs.
Kicking off in London on Wednesday 14th October, the series will take us to South Africa, Brazil and Spain, where artists will perform to their family, friends and a handful of fans – in compliance with local government guidelines – for the first time since the pandemic began, that will then be broadcast to fans worldwide.
Along the way, we’ll also be documenting each headliners journey from pandemic lockdowns to musical freedom as they share what it means to be an artist during this period and what this performance means to them with a new series of mini documentaries.
We’re also giving you the chance to get involved and be part of the experience, via an exclusive Zoom event, offering early access to the performances before they are broadcast to the world.
In true Ballantine’s x Boiler Room style, we’re supporting the local music communities from the grassroots up with each intimate performance will include line-ups that bring together headliners of today with headliners of tomorrow. First up, London Town with Banku music superstar Mr Eazi and up-and-coming soulful RnB singer Zilo representing the UK. Stay tuned for news and line ups of the next stop in the series, South Africa.
This initiative comes hot on the heels of our ‘Streaming from Isolation’ series, which supported 20 x under-threat music collectives around the world in the form of grants, giving them the opportunity to continue to do what they love and make a living while COVID-19 restrictions were in place, streaming their sets direct from their homes to fans globally in lockdown.
