Founder: Bozna Wydrowska / Mother Bozna Milan Sarmata
Born in 1994, Bozna lives and works in Warsaw. She is a visual artist, dancer, choreographer, and performer with a practice that is based on experimental and alternative choreographic practices of movement and voice. Bozna is also the pioneer of ballroom culture in Warsaw where she has been organizing and curating Bal u Bozeny since 2016. In 2019 she co-formed ballroom collective Kiki House of Sarmata which is the first international queer family in Poland
The Ball at Bożena’s is an event that combines performance and dance, where the boundaries between the performer and the audience are based on mutual support.
The goal of the event is not only to popularize the ballroom culture in Poland and the local club scene but to create a space of free artistic expression for everybody who feels excluded from society.
The ball consists of a competition for all categories and levels and is a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community from Poland and abroad.
