TRUE MUSIC IN THE ROUND EVENT SERIES FINALE ANNOUNCED

The final instalment of Boiler Room x Ballantine’s True Music In The Round takes place in Barcelona, Spain on Thursday 11^th February at 18:00 CET with one of the most important Spanish artists of today, Latin Grammy Award-winning rapper Mala Rodriguez. Mala’s unique performance will also feature the debut of an exclusive, unreleased track which she will perform live for the first time to fans from around the world as part of her broadcasted set.

Mala Rodriguez is an artist who has continued to break boundaries in her decade long, illustrious career. She is known for making music from the heart rather than for popularity, promising to consistently stay true to how she feels in her lyrics.

Through this series, Boiler Room x Ballantine’s give a full ‘In the Round’ view of the artist’s journey as they share their own take on what it means to be an artist during COVID-19 times. Mala Rodriguez will share what this performance means to her, told via the broadcast and a short film sharing fragments of her own personal stories.

As part of Boiler Room x Ballantine’s longstanding commitment to celebrating and championing local music communities, the finale of In The Round will be raising funds for a local cause close to the artist’s heart. The Spain edition backs Ninos Con Amor: A Seville based project, where Mala Rodriguez grew up, supporting adults with learning disabilities.

The initiative comes after Boiler Room x Ballantine’s ‘Streaming from Isolation’ series, which supported 20 under-threat music collectives around the world in the form of grants – including Barcelona’s Marcias collective – giving them the opportunity to continue to do what they love and make a living while COVID-19 restrictions were in place, and broadcasting their sets direct from their homes to audiences worldwide.

Boiler Room x Ballantine’s True Music In The Round aims to celebrate the global feeling of positivity and conviviality, embracing the ‘new normal’ and reconnecting communities with fans through music, whether virtually or in real life.
