Terms & Conditions

PREAMBLE

Effective 04 November 2022, the following terms and conditions apply exclusively to the King of the Decks competition (hereinafter referred to as “the Competition”) and all participants in the competition are deemed to have read, understood and accepted same:

ELIGIBILITY

This Competition is conducted by Pernod Ricard and Guide Radio and is restricted to persons of age 18 years and above.

COMPETITION PERIOD

The Competition will run from 4^th November to 25^th November 2022 (“the Competition Period”).

Pernod Ricard and Guide Radio reserve the right to change the dates of the Competition Period as it deems necessary and will notify the adult public should the dates change.

Pernod Ricard reserves the right to terminate this competition action in the event of a natural disaster or any other contingency likely to compromise the smooth running of the competition or for any other reason at its discretion.

COMPETITION MECHANICS

To enter the competition, the participant must observe the following.

1. Create a 5-minute audio of your DJ mix in portrait format
2. Upload his/her audio on www.ballantines.com. This is where the participant shows off his/her skills. Remember that ‘There\\\\\\\’s No Wrong Way to Mix and Scratch!’
3. The participant must also share a video of his/her performance on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter, using the hashtags #KingOfDecks & #BallantinesWhisky and mention @ballantinesgh @guideradio915 @theimullar in your post.
4. An expert group will shortlist the favourite top 10 entries to move to the next round
5. The public will vote for their top five DJs via a short code (Listen to Guide Radio 91.5FM for more details)
6. NB: The participant must ensure they are following @ballantinesgh and @guideradio915 and for an eligible post.
7. Entry Deadline: 25^th November 2022
8. All participants must carefully read and adhere to the competition’ T’s&C’s

COMPETITION PRIZE

The winner of the King of The Deck will takes home the following

1. Cash price of GHS 10,000
2. 6-months residency with Guide Radio
3. Other Ballantine’s gifts

OTHER TERMS

The participant must observe the following T’&C’s.

1. Must be 18 years and above
2. Must permit King of the Decks to record, film, broadcast and/otherwise reproduce and distribute his/her performance on social media and at the event, and to make recordings of the same. [To the extent that the participant owns such rights and have not assigned or exclusively licensed these rights to anyone else.]
3. The participant must assign all rights of his/her performance on social media and at the event (including copyright and performers\\\\\\\’ property rights in the performance) to King of the Decks and he/she gives all consent necessary to enable King of Decks to make the fullest use of his/her performance worldwide in perpetuity in any media without further payment, liability or acknowledgement to him/her.
4. The participant promises to, before the event or promptly afterwards, share competitional materials with King of The Decks for public and performing rights clearance. King of the Decks will be entitled to edit, copy, add to, adapt or translate the performance at its discretion and the participant hereby irrevocably waive in favour of King of The Decks (and its assignees and licensees) the benefit of all moral rights/ performers’ rights arising under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 2005 (Act 690) or similar rights arising outside Ghana.
5. King of the Decks may issue publicity about the performance and use the participant’ name, photograph, likeness and details about me for such purposes.
6. He/she agrees to comply with the competition rules, be available for activities and competitions and accept results of the competition at any stage.
7. The participant admits that he is not employed or directly associated to any known media body/ house in Ghana
8. He/she has read the full right and authority to enter this agreement and grants these rights and confirm that the granting of these rights will not violate the rights of any third party or terms of any other agreement to which I am a party.
9. This form is the entire agreement and shall be governed by the laws of Ghana.
10. King of the Decks may freely assign or license its rights under this agreement. This assignment or license shall be with prior notice to the participant.
11. The participant hereby acknowledges and accepts the contents of this form.
